      1. The BMW M series class of cars is highly desired in gaming and for people owning the real cars.
    8. Make no doubt about it, BMW is a class leading manufacturer on and off the race track.
      1. That “M” means so much to them and their owners, next time you see an M series BMW know this, they are fantastic and you will want one!

      4. Since its release in 2014, Assetto Corsa has become one of the most popular racing simulators on the planet: not just for the way that it drives but the wealth of mods available to install.
    9. These mods range from tracks and graphical enhancements through to different cars like open-wheelers, touring cars, and GT racers, which are available for free, as official DLC, or payware at a small price.
      1. On this page, you’ll find all of the best mods to use in 2021 on Assetto Corsa, as well as how you can go about installing these top mods.
  5. Mod Type: CarPrice: €3.80Download: Formula Hybrid 2020 mod.
    1. Race Sim Studio’s Formula One cars have set the standard in recent years, and the 2020 model may just be their best yet.
    2. The incredibly accurate model, a generic 2020 F1 car, looks especially stunning when applied with realistic skins from sites such as RaceDepartment.
    1. Coupled with the sounds and physics, RSS have delivered what is perhaps the most enjoyable experience of driving a current generation Formula One car outside of the official F1 game.
    2. Taking one of these cars around Mugello and Imola is something that you must do if you haven’t already.
  6. Mod Type: Weather/GraphicalPrice: FreeDownload: Sol mod.
    1. Whilst Assetto Corsa is now slightly dated graphically, that hasn’t stopped modders from trying to enhance the game’s appearance.
    2. The incredible Sol mod hosted on RaceDepartment is perhaps one of the main reasons why the game has enjoyed such longevity.
  7. The mod enhances the overall appearance of the game, adds thunder, rain, day and night transitions, and a general improvement to the shades, shadows, and feel of the game.
    1. This is an absolute must-have addition to your Assetto Corsa game.
    2. Mod Type: CarPrice: FreeDownload: VRC McLaren MP4-20 mod.
    3. The 2005 McLaren MP4-20 is possibly the greatest Formula One car to never win a world title.
    4. The sight of Kimi Räikkönen hurling this thing around Monaco on his qualifying run is something that fans will never forget, and who can forget his remarkable Japanese Grand Prix victory that year?
    5. VRC have produced a very accurate representation of the car in this Assetto Corsa mod, from the physics to the sounds.
  8. That V10 scream is music to anyone’s ears.
    1. Better still, you can throw the car into any corner, and it will stay planted to the ground.
    2. Mod Type: CarPrice: £5.19Download: Kunos F2004 mod.
    3. While technically a DLC and not an outright mod, the Kunos F2004 certainly deserves a mention here.
  9. The sounds are spot on, and the physics accurately represent what was the fastest Formula One car prior to the 2020 Mercedes W11.
    1. Despite the traction control, you have to be careful: those V10 engines were mighty powerful, and the car can certainly bite.
    2. Mod Type: CarPrice: €3.80Download: Formula Hybrid X 2022 mod.
    3. Formula One’s new technical rules were postponed a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
    1. In Assetto Corsa, thanks to RSS, you can experience the new cars a year early.
      1. This car is a different kettle of fish to the 2020 machine: the loss of downforce is obvious, and corners that were flat out now need a lot more care than they did before.
      2. This car requires a patient driving technique, but in races, you can feel the gains made in minimising the loss of downforce and the reduction in dirty air.
      1. It feels more 1970s than 2020s.
      2. Mod Type: CarPrice: €3.80Download: Formula Americas 2020 mod.
  10. Yes, another RSS mod, but for a good reason!
    1. RSS Have replicated the 2020 IndyCar Series model, complete with aeroscreen.
    2. When you add in the Texas Motor Speedway circuit available via VRC, you can have some amazing oval races, or just find those extra hundredths of a second on a hot lap.
  11. Outside of iRacing, this is probably the best representation of America’s premier open-wheel series.
    1. We just need rolling starts added and a decent Indianapolis Motor Speedway mod.
    2. Mod Type: TrackPrice: FreeDownload: Donington Park mod.
  12. Speaking of circuits, the freely available Donington Park on RaceDepartment is one of the most detailed track mods Assetto Corsa has ever seen.
    1. This is not an rFactor conversion; this is a bespoke track, accurately modelled from the pits to the trackside scenery.
    2. The racing circuit itself has been done justice, feeling every bit like the real track that thrills us each year in the British Touring Car Championship.
  13. It’s a reminder that in the UK, there are some amazing circuits outside of Silverstone.
    1. Mod Type: CircuitPrice: FreeDownload: Goodwood mod.
    2. Another of the RaceDepartment-hosted mod that deserves a mention is Goodwood.
    1. Both the hillclimb and the actual track have been modelled, but the track is our point of focus here.
    2. It’s a superb mod.
    1. Using it makes you feel like you’re thrown back into the 1950s and 1960s, and there’s nothing better than throwing a classic F1 car or GT racer around this picturesque circuit.
      1. Mod Type: CarPrice: FreeDownload: BMW 320I-STW mod.
    2. Classic touring cars certainly need more hype.
      1. The BMW 320I-STW is for those who love the Super Touring era of the BTCC – and rubbing really was racing back then.
    3. It looks great, sounds great, and matches up perfectly against the Nissan Primera mod for the game (see below).
      1. Further enhancing its appeal as an Assetto Corsa mod, classic BMWs always looked the part.
      2. There wasn’t a big grille, just a simple, smooth body that looks even better in BMW’s racing colours.
