win7, like yours, LPM ceased to work, crashed all the time, and I uninstalled then tried reinstalling and had the same error(not compatible).

Although much better for non-touchscreen laptops, it still seems designed to be viewed on a tablet as text and graphics are very large with much less text on the screen at any one time.

It does seem to work with few glitches though.Windows 10 also has fewer ways to personalize. As you say, the power controls are much less customizable than Lenovo's Power Manager, but that is a Lenovo program.

If you can't find that file try installing the application from this link: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-x-series-laptops/thinkpad-x1-carbon-type-34xx/downloads/DS014924It took me a couple of hours to figure it out.
